Privacy
Back is a private self-help tool. There is no account. The app does not collect your data on a server.
What Back is
Back is quiet support for the next minute of anxiety, panic, or overload. Six tools stay on your phone. Back is not therapy, not a diagnosis, not an emergency service, and not a medical device. It does not create or read Apple Health Records, and it does not use HealthKit.
No account, no server collection
You do not create an account. The iOS app does not send your information to Back App or to a cloud service. There is no analytics SDK in the app, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier collection.
What can stay on this device
If you use these features, they are stored only on the phone:
- A support contact you save as “my person” (a name and phone number you type). This contact never leaves the device through Back.
- Appearance, haptics, motion, Read pace, and last tool choices.
- A short local list of recent tools.
- A country you choose for Extra support, so a public emergency number can be shown.
- Read memory you choose to keep on the device.
You can remove the saved person and forgotten patterns from Settings. Uninstalling Back removes what the app stored.
Calls and messages
If you tap Call my person, Message my person, or Extra support emergency help, Back opens the phone or messages app on your device. The call or message starts only if you confirm. Back does not place the call for you and does not receive the contents of the call or message.
This website
This Privacy Policy is a public page at backapp.live. Visiting the website is separate from using the app. The page may be served by GitHub Pages. We do not use the site to collect accounts or health information.
Children
Back is not directed at children. Extra support and panic-related copy are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect personal data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page. The App Store listing and the in-app Privacy screen point here.
Contact
For privacy questions about Back, use Support. There is no in-app account to recover, because nothing is stored with us.
