How Back Guides are written.
Clear, calm general information for difficult moments — with room for uncertainty and for getting more help.

Purpose
Back Guides offer practical, low-pressure reading for moments of anxiety, panic or overwhelm. They are written to help a reader choose one small next step. They are not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice or emergency care.
How we work
Our editorial team writes and maintains the Guides alongside the Back product. We use public-health sources such as the NHS and the National Institute of Mental Health where they are relevant, and link to them on each Guide. We do not present the team as licensed clinicians or claim clinical review unless a qualified professional has actually reviewed a specific article.
Safety boundaries
Every Guide includes an urgent-help notice. We do not tell readers that a new, severe or worrying symptom is “just panic.” We do not promise that a technique will work for everyone or make panic stop. When professional or emergency support may be needed, we say so plainly.
Product accuracy
Back has six local tools: Breathe, Distract, Ground, Move, Listen and Read. It does not require an account. A saved support contact and preferences stay on the device. If someone chooses a call or message, Back opens the phone’s system screen; it does not contact anyone by itself.
Updates and corrections
We update a Guide when its content, product details or sources materially change. Its published and updated dates show when it entered the library and when it was last reviewed. If you see a factual or accessibility issue, please contact Back Support.
Find the right level of support.
Back can offer a small next step. It is not a replacement for professional or emergency care.
